Sometimes there’s a moment when you’re allowed to pause for a while. Amid developing, testing, listening to parents and constantly improving, something suddenly happens that shows exactly why you started in the first place.
That moment came for us when we heard that Maesy has been nominated for two awards at the Baby Innovation Award 2026:

It feels like a warm boost of encouragement. A confirmation that safe, sustainable and affordable sunglasses for children really do make a difference — and that thousands of parents support us in this.
☀️ How it all began
Maesy started with a simple question:
Why aren’t there sunglasses for children that truly meet all the requirements?
Safe, strong, comfortable, beautiful and sustainable — without immediately becoming incredibly expensive.
We wanted to create glasses that parents could use with confidence, and that would last for years:
- strong enough for every adventure
- safe enough for every season
- beautiful enough to wear every day
- sustainable enough to pass on
That has always been our starting point — and it is precisely this that the jury recognized.

The nomination is not about just one feature.

Fully recyclable, free from harmful substances and much more durable than alternatives such as recycled plastic or wheat straw.

Lightweight, flexible and designed for everyday use.
For the youngest children, we include an adjustable elastic strap, so the glasses always stay securely in place.

This makes it easy to pass the glasses on to brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews or children in the neighborhood.
✔️ Second Life Programme
Sunglasses that no longer fit can be sent back.
We clean and inspect them, then donate them through Eyes for the World to children who cannot afford safe sun protection themselves.
